I was born in Tacoma in 1957 and I have lived in the greater Tacoma-Pierce County area my entire life. I began my community involvement in 1987, and over these past 36 years I have given back to my community with an “it’s not about me; it’s all about us” approach. I have always viewed community service as “look what we did,” and this working together ethic is what I will bring as a Metro Parks Tacoma Commissioner.
In volunteering for my community, I have too many proud moments to list here, but one example I am most proud of is being part of the Bob Maguinez Memorial Committee that raised just over $246,400 to renovate Metro Parks’ Heidelberg/Davis Sports Complex. The reason that I’m running for Metro Parks Tacoma Commission is that I’m going to do as I’ve always done, work with others to make it not about me, but about our city’s parks for our children’s future.
We’re all a team here in the City of Tacoma and the Metro Parks system, and I want to be a member of the team to help our parks move forward with everything that needs to be done. "TOGETHER”
Sincerely,
Tony Anderson
